According to Vox Magazine – “In 2015, health officials in Rhode Island released data showing a dramatic spike in cases of syphilis (79 percent), gonorrhea (30 percent), and HIV (33 percent) in the previous year. The uptick, they said, wasn’t an outlier — it was part of a national trend.
According to a September report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were more than 2 million cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis reported in the United States in 2016 — the highest cumulative number ever recorded.”
The biggest culprit for this huge spike in STI’s? Online dating apps, which some say foster a culture of casual sex that could be linked to the dramatic rise in the STD and STI epidemic. by enabling users to meet people and hook up more efficiently than ever before.
Many health experts see online dating as the new frontier for STD prevention — but major sites don’t want to make changes.
In comes SwaggerScan! A revolutionary new way of dating that is designed to help users prevent the spread of STI’s by REQUIRING testing and full disclosure for all members.
Devi speaks with Dia Hicks, creator of SwaggerScan.com a service here to help END the STD and STI epidemic. This new service will allow people to share their health history before dating, which will give people more incentive to test!

DIA HICKS | SWAGGER SCAN
Five years ago my dream was to create a safer alternative to online dating and to give people a reason to get tested. After three years of building and branding, I’ve created what medical professionals have confirmed as “a powerful online tool” for users of similar values to meet and have the freedom to discuss awareness & safety. After three hard years of growing a movement, SwaggerScan will soon be launching and that dream will be realized. I encourage you to pursue your dreams, and hope you are compelled to help me follow mine.
