This video is a follow-up to our previous conversation answering the question What Is Tantric Sex? Our first video outlined what Tantric sex is NOT. Haven’t watched it? You can find part one HERE.

In this latest video, I offer a brief description of how I practice sexual Tantra under the umbrella of Vajrayana Tantric Buddhism. Traditionally, tantric sexual practices are only offered to students when they have cultivated enough “accomplishment” in non-sexual tantric practices. The accomplishment of practice in our tradition looks like completing the recitation of 111,111 mantras of a specific Deity, with full visualization, and all 4 components of; taking refuge, creation stage, accomplishment stage, and dedication of merit. That is a “complete” practice. After doing all 4 components for 111,111 mantra recitations, the student informs the Lama of the accomplishment, and the Lama determines if the energy body yoga of that practice has integrated sufficiently for advancement to the next practice. It can take anywhere from 6 months to 6 years for a practitioner to accomplish ONE authentic Tantric Deity Yoga practice.

Luckily, my Lama was trained by the venerable Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche, who believed that Westerners who demonstrated an interest in, or propensity for the Dharma had most likely practiced in previous lifetimes, and so, Lama’s today should help them pick up where they left off last lifetime. What this means in practical terms is that Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche often gave “advanced” Dharma practices to beginners when he detected proficiency and aptitude in them.

So it was with our Lama and then later, so it was with me when I was granted permission to be trained in the Tibetan 5 Element sexual tantra before completing a Vajrayana Deity Yoga practice.

That being said, by the time I started teaching students independently of my Mentor, I had accomplished 2 peaceful Deity Yoga practices, part of the Ngondro, and was deep into Vajrayana Protector practices such as 6 armed Black Mahakala and Vajrayogini practice.

All of this is to say that, authentic Tantric sexual practice is NO JOKE! It can take years to prepare the body and the channels to effectively metabolize the energy generated during Vajryayana sexual yoga practice.

Luckily still, in all his infinite wisdom, Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche passed his knowledge of the Tibetan 5 Element practice (sexual and non-sexual) to our Lama, Lama Tashi Dundrup. The Tibetan 5 Element Tantric practices are like “beginner’s Tantra”. They consist of visualizing specific shapes and chanting specific mantras associated with the elemental energies in your body and your environment. It is a “medical” application of Tantra in that the focus is on generating healing energy and cultivating balance and enrichment of body, mind, and sex.

Tibetan 5 Element Tantra is appropriate for all human beings and can be learned and practiced by anyone who feels a resonance with these methods.

Lama Tashi shared these methods with me, and eventually, after completing several years of Diety Yoga practice, Lama Tashi gave me his blessing and permission to not only share these methods with all of you, but also train and CERTIFY others to share them with the world, with their own unique lens and associated Karmas.

Our two-year Tantra Certification training program ensures that all of our certified Authentic Tantra practitioners are exceptionally qualified to introduce you to the lineage-based sexual and non-sexual healing method of Tibetan 5 Element Tantra, from the Vajrayana tradition of Tantric Buddhism.
